02F3A: Friday Backup Plans

Friday - Bicycle on a Motorscycle

We were supposed to meet up with a new gamer tonight, but real life got in the way, and we agreed to reschedule for some other time. It would have been "just" a gateway games night,  if ever, since he's relatively new to modern board games. But it's still a loss of an activity for the weekend.

We considered stepping out to watch Wicked: For Good, but trying to book last-minute tickets for a popular movie like this during its opening weekend is bonkers. I had no intentions of getting us seats right up against the screen, so it'll have to wait for another day. But that day won't be tomorrow.

We have our big monthly game night tomorrow, so we'll be good on that front. That's a game night that lasts around 12 hours (at least!), and so we get to cover a lot of geeky ground during these meet-ups. It's a bit of a struggle to keep up with these games as the holiday season gets busier and busier, but those are just some of the challenges of this hobby - right up there with shelf space.

For tonight, we could try to find friends to game with online via BGA, but I think I'm more looking forward to sitting down with some unplayed games. On the menu are Scarface 1920, the trio of Reiner Knizia ORBIT, EGO, & SILOS, and finally Point Galaxy (Amazon affiliate link). I doubt we'll have time for all of those games, but if we get through more than one of them, it'll be a good night.

I hope you all have a good weekend ahead.
