Despite my somewhat tumultuous Friday, we still had fun in the evening. Since I had been able to restore internet connectivity for the Sietch, we still managed to play some board games with a friend online. Funnily, the main constraint was that she was going to be headed to the airport in the morning, so gaming via BGA was the only option. We kept things simple and stuck to a number of familiar favorites. Our online game roster included Let's Go! To Japan, Next Station: London, Ark Nova with the Marine Worlds expansion, and finally Spots because dogs LOL.
We ended earlier than we normally would have, so that allowed Tobie and I to sit down to learn Creature Caravan, as we were planning to bring it to the big game night today. It turned out to be a little easier to learn than anticipated since it incorporated mechanics from other Ryan Laukat games. Plus it's rather cute on the table.
We woke up around noon and just had time for lunch before we needed to get ourselves to our FGTC game session. We had been hoping to get there by 04:00pm, but the whole physical distance thing meant that we only got there around 04:40pm.
I'll have a full accounting of the night's games in tomorrow's blog update. Gaming comes first.
