02E37: Friday Report

Friday - Mala Lunch

We had our second session at work today and things went pretty well. As expected, these meetings have helped us determine how much work we have ahead of us on top of the day-to-day things needed to keep things running. It's additional work but important work, so we'll figure out how to make it all work. As always, I remain hopeful that things will work out as planned. We just gotta roll up our sleeves and get things done.

Beyond that, we still had a full day of work things to deal with. I cleared a number of reports and media-related things so that leaves my Monday clear for other priorities. That includes a few more reports, because it's that time of the month, plus whatever else comes along.

No major plans for the weekend. I've been steadily working through my reading queue while here and I expect to get even more reading done this weekend. Apart from Antifragile (my work-related book) and our family book club book, I've been going through any books by Michael Thomas Ford I happen to have in my library. For one reason or another, I was looking for books that focused on the stories of older gay men as most tend to focus on young love or coming-of-age stories. Ford fits the bill perfectly and I've been highlighting some pretty powerful quotes here and there. His books have proven to be exactly what I'm looking for and I expect to finish a third book before the weekend ends.

Beyond that, it's going to be a quiet Friday night. We've all had a long day and the household is eager to wind down and just catch up on sleep. I'll probably do some reading, but I expect I could benefit from some extra sleep as well.
