Last night was...great. We just stayed home and it was awesome. The big change was that since Tobie managed to get the internet working at the new Sietch, we had a more "normal" evening together - and watched a bunch of streaming content while we did other things on our respective computers. We watched Fly Me to the Moon (not great, but not terrible) and finally got started on The Diplomat (this started out REALLY well).
We still tried to make some progress with the Sietch preparations. I maneuvered some games onto the bigger shelf by the door and Tobie assembled a smaller shelf he bought to fit in a particular empty spot. The other big achievement was finally hanging a portrait of us that the O Boys gave us two years ago - thank you 3M Command strips!
And for something atypical, we finally tried some Korean face masks among the many we've received as gifts over the year. It was a weird experience, but not a terrible one. It was certainly quite...slimy? But it smelled delightful given we had tried some strawberry masks first. We have a good number of the masks left and maybe this will become a more regular weekend activity.
Today's mission was locating the BF Homes branch of The Secret Lounge, which has been my regular foot spa place since the pandemic. The BGC branch had closed along with the rest of Fort Strip just as we were moving and it's only now that we had time to figure out where they are. It's a bit further than comfortable and the cost to Grab there kinda eats into the limit discount I get being a VIP member. But it's the same level of service and today the attendant actually came from the BGC branch and she was very happy to see me.
Then Tobie and I finally did some grocery shopping to properly stock the Sietch. We hope to cook some meals this week alongside those already prepared for the household and finally cut down on our food deliveries. Plus there are weird things we've run out of like our preferred brand of toilet paper and bar soap. The supermarket at SM BF isn't stocked in the same was as the one in SM Aura and there are things we'll have to find alternate sources for. It's a bit annoying, but I'm sure we'll get used to things. Or maybe we'll experiment with Shopwise or other supermarkets in the area to figure out the best way to tackle things.
February is starting out pretty great!
