My Monday shift was pretty busy with some unusual events in the day. I got some important things done. I still have more things that I need to finish. Wash, rince, repeat. It wasn't a bad day, but there's just a lot going on. And I think we're all looking forward to the Chinese New Year holiday next week.
We've made a bit more progress with the new Sietch. Tobie managed to get some of the old cabinet doors off, converting them into open shelves that make a lot more sense for board games. I joined him after I finished the last of my work stuff and together we managed to corral most of the remaining games into some semblance of order. We now have a general plan for the least big shelf as it looks like we have enough space for all the board games, at least. As always, this feels like a temporary achievement given we have new games coming in all the time. But I'm going to take the win.
The space we cleared was originally meant for a TV, thus my additional motivation to get it cleared. But it also turns out that our TV is too wide for the original base. We'll need to come up with some sort of a solution to put the TV on to clear the oddly higher shelves on both sides of the TV area. It's the sort of spot where a VCR would probably fit...but it's no longer the 80s. We don't have a perfectly flat console that could act as a base (and that's probably not good for the console), so that leaves us with figuring out some sort of alternative. Maybe there's another drawer or shelf-style solution we can acquire that'll make better use of the space. OR we can mount the TV on the wall, which Tobie seems open to trying given his new appreciation for having an impact drill that doubles as a power screwdriver.
We're really settling into life in the south, I guess. We've been exploring different food options both in person and via delivery apps and it's certainly an interesting range. I'm a little constrained when it comes to keto-friendly options beyond bigger chains that were also available in BGC like SaladStop! Bacolod Chicken Inasal and the like. It's a shame we're now too far away from Sariwon - they made for a great Korean barbecue delivery option for sure. But we'll find alternatives in time.
We haven't even hoped to explore home service massage options given we still haven't gotten the bedroom fully set up. But we have found a decent massage spa right around the corner that has pretty decent service thus far. I might indulge in their couple's package sometime, if only to gain access to the private sauna that seems limited to the couple's room for some reason.
We still haven't actually gone grocery shopping for our own stuff yet and have continued to share meals with Tobie's mom. By right, we're totally prepared to cook at this point save for ingredients, but that will also involve learning how things work in this kitchen, so we'll see how that goes.
But now I want to work on O Bar videos and/or play through the last of our escape room advent calendar. We have a lot of catching up to do on various fronts.
