Work was pretty good - busy, but not as hectic as yesterday. I made more Gemini-supported progress with some client deliverables and we got through a reporting meeting with minimal complications. Other regular meetings still happened and we're getting back on track for proper progress this year. There are a million other things that require attention, but I think the team is doing a pretty good job of keeping pace with things.
I've been terrible at keeping up with my steps throughout the day - strong evidence of sitting down longer than I should. The past few nights I've been desperately catching up after dinner in order to maintain my daily step out, but it's quite frustrating. Today is no exception as I will be figuring out how else to squeeze in another 4k steps before bed.
On the organizing front, I managed to assert some semblance of order for our part of the main kitchen through creative use of existing storage bits and those Japanese racks that help you make better use of taller cupboards. Everything probably needs a good washing before actually getting used for cooking, but it's still something. Then Tobie and worked on the bedroom, which involved temporarily moving out all of the collectibles that we had parked on the bed, then figuring out how we're organizing the closet, and then giving it all a go. We didn't have enough hangers for everything since a good number of them came with our BGC unit, so that's something we'll have to address. The other question is where to put our socks and underwear given they used to be stored in built-in drawers in BGC. I've already placed an order for plastic drawers that should fit into the shelf beneath where our clothes are now. Provided my measurements were correct, they should be just the right size for three units to fit side-by-side. Then that closet should generally be in working order.
I'm rather excited to actually start sleeping in our little home and there are a few more steps needed before we can do that. The closet was a big step forward and we still need hangers for the rest of our clothes just to get that properly settled. Then we need to give everything a quick once-over as it's still rather dusty, change the sheets (and possibly launder the pillows), plus the need to figure out the bathroom as it's still more of a storage space at the moment given how we had dumped everything in there during the move. But really, that's pretty much the bare minimum needed for us to at least sleep in the unit given our clothes are once again accessible. The main living area will take more time for us to organize and arrange and the current board game placement is hardly final either. But it's not much longer now, I think.
I really hope I got the right drawers for the closet. It would have been safer to just get one to test, but of course, I dove in and committed to three right away. I'm also still waiting for the new Orbi mesh WiFi6 units so that I can upgrade the setup here to accommodate higher potential speeds. And then I think we can actually do some proper grocery shopping this weekend and look forward to preparing our own meals by next week. So exciting!
