After a fair amount of back and forth, I have settled the work permit for the movers tomorrow and have a decent agreement with our broker for how the actual move out is going to go on Friday. I finally remembered to call PLDT during work hours and found out that I'm still under contract until August, so I might as well try to move the service to the new place instead of just disconnecting it. There's naturally an existing internet solution at Tobie's family house but we'll see how we'll juggle the two, I suppose.
I've filed leave for the next two days, but it feels like everyone and their dog is hoping for me to make time to meet with them, work on a report, or whatever. It's understandable - this is the first full work week of the year and everyone's back at work after the holiday period. So it's a pretty busy time and everything feels urgent - at least from the perspective of whoever is making the request. As it stands, I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up trying to get on a call or two tomorrow while the movers try to figure out how to pack up the last 8 years of us living in BGC.
But if everything works out, all of our things will physically be in ParaƱaque by Friday and that leaves us the weekend to start sorting through things and figuring out the shape of our lives moving forward given this new chapter. We did another drive around the area to reacquaint ourselves with the BF Homes area and things feel very different from the early days of me and Tobie getting to know one another. I'm definitely looking forward to exploring around the neighborhood more. I best familiarize myself with a place on my feet, as it were.
But yeah, this move is really happening. It's kinda bonkers to really think about it.
Wish us luck.
