02DF2: More Moving Updates

Friday - North Park Dinner

As planned, we took today off to focus on moving stuff to the new Sietch in the South (name pending). Today's efforts involved breaking down some of the hardware shelves that we've been using for storage and getting them over there so that we can eventually reassemble them and get stuff off the floor. The immediate priority is to just get our stuff over there, and then we'll figure out how to get things organized in time.

Tobie has gathered a variety of different types of hardware shelves over the years and it just so happened that the ones that we tackled today were the ones that involved screws - some that had become very difficult to undo for one reason or another. That added some unneeded complications to our efforts, but we got through the two shelves eventually.

The other challenge was needing the clear some of the stuff that was still there in unit given it had been used as extended storage to some degree. So we had a mix of unloading and moving things around when we got to the house, which made up the bulk of my steps for today.

We made a total of two trips today, although the second trip got bogged down by rain by the time we got to ParaƱaque. Our stuff didn't get too wet, thankfully. But it definitely wasn't very fun by the end of things.

We also ended up having dinner while in the South, just to get more of a feel for things. Admittedly, I'm quite excited to start exploring the area on foot once we're fully settled. There are a lot of interesting cafes and other establishments that I'll totally want to check out. If you live in the same area, do let me know if you have recommendations or if you even want to meet up.

We're going to miss BGC, but it doesn't mean we aren't going to enjoy being back in Tobie's family home. It's not quite the same ParaƱaque that Tobie grew up in at this point, so there's going to be a lot of new things to experience together.
