The weather today was rather miserable and we ended up staying indoors most of the day. Not that we've been going out a lot the whole time we've been in Tagaytay - but it was bad enough such that I also didn't really walk Koji around the neighborhood. He did get some yard time when the rain wasn't so bad, but that's about it.
I did get a lot of reading time today and I'm down to my last 4 titles to hit my 366 book goal for the year. I thought I wasn't going to be able to finish reading The Dark Forest before the year ends, but now I think I stand a good chance. Things are moving a lot quicker in the book and it would be nice to bring this chapter to a proper close before the fireworks.
We did play through two more sessions of Ticket to Ride: Legends of the West last night and ended up finishing past 04:00am. We have two more sessions left in the campaign but I don't know if we'll have enough time to finish up before Tobie and I head back to Manila. We'll see if we can squeeze it in tomorrow but it's going to be tight given other planned activities and us hoping to avoid driving home in the dark. In addition, we at least got to try learning how to play Smartphone Inc, an interesting business simulation game focused on the mobile phone industry. It looked rather daunting but turned out to be a lot simpler in practice. Maybe we'll be able to get through a full game before it's time to go.
Too many games we want to play, even within our family circle. I don't even know if I'll be able to re-join them to finish the My Island campaign at some point. But Ticket to Ride is still the priority.
The year is almost over! It's kind of crazy to really think about it. I guess I should try to do some sort of year-end wrap-up blog post by Tuesday. But what to talk about, really?
