As expected, this was a weird workday. Everyone was clearly in a holiday mood, but things still needed to get done. A lot of people were out, so the rest of us had to pull together. And I had somehow managed to push a lot of my number-crunching work to today, so that was fun. At least I got all the big stuff settled.
Outside of work, there was still a lot of stuff that needed to be addressed for the house itself. The new furniture got assembled today, but getting ready for that still involved moving things around to make room for this or that.
One of the big highlights of this holiday period has been spending time with Koji, the family's new Rottweiler. He's only 7 months old but is already a big (and strong) dog and tends to have a lot of pent up energy. We're trying to make the time to ensure he gets walked at least twice a day to help him regular. He's getting more used to walking with me, I think, but I'm hoping to wean him off of tugging on the leash so much.
The other is the fact that the family has started a second legacy game, this being My Island. The rest of the family had gone through the campaign for My City, I was the only one unfamiliar with the general system. But it has been easy enough to dive into. It'll be interesting to see if we'll finish both of these campaign games while I'm still here. Otherwise, I guess I'll be out of the running.
I still have to report in for a half-day shift tomorrow and then it'll be the holiday for real - at least until Christmas day itself. I really should file leave for some of the days this week. It'll be crazier once everyone is here.
