It's 12.12 today and I managed to resolve another Christmas gift via Lazada. There are still a few more gaps in my shopping list, but I should figure out the rest of it eventually. I know time is running out, but I always pull through in the end.
Work was pretty productive, but I think I generally feel that was about Thursdays. We have an important weekly meeting that acts as a good reminder of how things are progressing. And it helps kick me forward to make sure I have progress to share with the team, so there's that. The holiday malaise is still a cloud looming over everything we do, but we'll get through it.
I just finished reading Something Like Winter, which is the third book in the series. I had trouble with the first book because Ben makes a lot of stupid decisions for the sake of Tim. The second book tried to provide context for Jace, the man Ben eventually marries and I also didn't like the direction they took in fleshing out his character. This book shows us Tim's perspective and tries to redeem him a little...but he still goes to some bizarre lengths to try to win Ben back, and that leaves an odd taste in the mouth. But I'll concede that reading all three books did make for a rather fulfilling experience, despite my personal grievances with many of the character decisions.
As much as I have grown to be quite the romantic under Tobie's influence, I still need characters to make decent choices even when blinded by love or even just infatuation. I am a romantic tempered by a lifetime of being a pragmatic grump or something. LGBT authors beware LOL.
That's all for now. Back to my non-work "work" = processing O Bar-related media I've taken.
