It was both a slow start to the week yet also a busy one, which is all that can be expected after what was a long weekend for most. I struggled to get out of bed for yoga, so I contented myself with just some breathwork before jumping into my first call for the day. And I still have a lot more to do tomorrow. Certainly an interesting start to the new month.
I've finished the second book in the Old Man's War series - this being The Ghost Brigades, along with the two short stories set right after each of these books. And while they're not quite as mind-blowing as something like The Expanse, the novels are solid military science fiction that I'm really enjoying. Scalzi has a flair for words (and maybe a bit of an obsession tying a sense of self to thought or something) and I know I'm going to go through the rest of this series before dabbling with other authors again - the family book club title and my work-related reading doesn't count, of course.
Tonight is one of those Mondays when we have a Pendragon RPG session, so that's a nice balance for the rest of the day. This is the game where Tobie is also a player, so the dynamic is interestingly different. I like how my knight is developing along with his rather significant interest in animals and hunting. We're just cleared our first full game year and already I've gotten married and managed to have twin boys. As long as my kids don't die next winter (unlike one of my horses), then I should have some semblance of continuance should I end up dying in our next big battle.
More substantial updates tomorrow, maybe. Let's see how this week goes.
