02D95: An Object at Rest...

Thursday - Bangus and Banchan

We're now in the final quarter of the year and I'm starting to feel the pressure of our planned move to the south. I saw planned only in the sense that we've decided to do it but we haven't done a lot of the needed prep work leading up to that event. It's not for lack of trying - Tobie and I have had a lot of discussions at the very least. But we've both had different work trips getting in the way of things (I'm flying again in just over a week), so it has been hard to figure out how to begin. And for anyone who has been to the Sietch or at least seen snippets of it in video calls and social media posts, it's pretty clear that we have a LOT of stuff that we'll need to figure out how to move.

It's just as well that the year is winding down and I expect our activity calendar to start to wind down. That should free up some time for us to spend more time at the (old) new place and start properly mapping out how to move things and where. We need to clear space first then see if we can start slowly migrating things in batches just so that we don't have to rush everything at the end. But naturally, even just thinking about this project is rather daunting as we now have WAY more stuff than when we moved from Cubao to BGC in 2017.

On some level, it's probably also fully accepting the move as actually getting stuff there is what will make everything feel a lot more real. For now, everything is theoretical and nebulous and "next year" as a measure of time feels abstractly far away. October is still going to be a bit too busy for us to get started properly, but I know we won't have any excuses come November. Then it will really be crunch time and we'll need to get things moving in earnest.

Wish us luck.
