So...Tobie is home. Tobie is home a whole day earlier than expected.
AND HE DIDN'T TELL ME HE WAS FLYING HOME.
In fact, he was really hamming it up in our different chats and on social posts that he'll miss tonight's O Bar birthday show. A number of factors contributed to this sudden return, but ultimately he forced an earlier flight home and showed up while I was in the bathroom. Imagine my surprise (and some degree of worry) when I heard the door being maneuvered open when no one else should be able to get into the Sietch like that. I was rather freaked out for a moment...and then I realized this potential burglar had a key.
Don't get me wrong - I'm super happy he's home. And it's a totally Tobie thing to try to do this in this manner - including messaging me right before he opened the door to ask if he could call. Unfortunately for him, not only was I occupied, but I had left my phone to charge, so I wasn't in a position to read his efforts to be cute on chat.
I still had to get through work, which is just as well since Tobie hadn't slept in order to make the morning flight. He's now in a position to join the O Bar event tonight, so all is right in my little world. We already had great plans for the weekend, but now we can start relaxing in earnest even earlier. It's always interesting to be alone at the Sietch, but it's not something I really would "need" for longer periods of time.
