I was working alone at the Sietch this afternoon when our fan broke. Our common issue with electric fans is when they slow down over time and eventually stop turning no matter how much we try to oil the mechanisms. Today's problem was very different...the fan head snapped off. I guess the plastic parts around the motor wore down with the oscillations of the fan or something as it really broke off. And while this is my main suspicion...the fan was actually steady and on the lowest setting when this happened. The only good thing was that the head had naturally fallen forward but this allowed it to conveniently turn itself off before it could do any serious damage. Tobie has already picked up a replacement unit on his way back from ParaƱaque, but we still have to set the new fan up and dispose of the old one.
But yeah, super weird.
At work, I'm approaching the end of the first wave of interviews for this position and now have to figure out who will advance to the next round. I've had a working shortlist for some time now, but I got to spend some time today to really think about the ones I've spoken to in order to winnow down the list further. It's never easy since I only have their resumes and my notes from the initial interview to go by, but that's just how the process goes. I have to trust in my methodology thus far and trust that I'll find the right person for this role. As this is someone that I'll be working with very closely, I really want to make sure I get the right person.
All my digital ads work alongside the HR stuff is a lot easier because numbers are numbers. I covered a lot of ground there as well and I'm in a good position to get more things done tomorrow. I hope this workweek ends on a high note! A sense of fulfillment from work would be something nice to bring with me into the weekend.
And finally....KYLIE's TENSION TOUR IS COMING TO MANILA!!!
