Last night was great! We had a rather unique mix of friends with us at the table including a regular who was in need of a space for the night. We ended up taking videos of the performances together and having a lot of insider-ish conversations about the performers and related developments.
As this was the first birthday show for all four celebrants for the night, I really enjoyed the production as a whole. Beyond some new spotlight numbers that really showcased the talents of the different performers, there were some creative tweaks made to existing numbers to bring them more into focus, which I appreciated a lot. The night also had some fun guests, one of which being returning O Diva Angel who really seemed to enjoy her time back on stage.
I could get used to these O Bar birthday shows being on Fridays versus Saturdays. It makes for a fun night but it still leaves a better part of the weekend free for other pursuits. Otherwise, a big Saturday night at O means we're super sluggish on Sunday. The Monday after ends up hitting like a brick wall but we have no choice but to soldier on.
Tonight will be a lot quieter as we're in our usual O Bar recovery mode. We're bound to play board games tonight and it's just a question of whether or not we can drag someone over to game with us. We have some new games that arrived this week and it's always easier to learn games with a smaller player group versus a full table. And we have no shortage of ways to enjoy the night.
