Today was still a rainy day, but at least not as rainy as yesterday. There were still some intense moments here and there, but at least there weren't as many reports of serious flooding across Metro Manila, so that's good news. We're still waiting for all the effects of this typhoon to fully resolve and hopefully, we have enough time to breathe before the next storm system inevitably makes its way here.
Now there are often "proper" ways to do things and many less-than-ideal alternativess. Whether this is determined by tradition, etiquette, or any other kind of social norm, there are generally reasons behind why it becomes the accepted practice. At the very least, it is some sort of social contract within a specific group of people or some other general agreement. And when you go another way, then there are inevitably going to be consequences. And I don't quite know why some people feel they can just do this without seeming to think about the implications of their actions, but then one can't claim to know how the other is thinking either. So we just persevere and keep moving forward.
I'm now down to the last of the birthday cakes, which is just as well as we're pushing a week since my birthday. Tobie has been helping me, which is just as well as we can both have keto cakes but I can't necessarily have regular cakes. But it's nice to have something to share. I'm trying to get back on track since I've had significant indulgences since my Singapore trip and all the way through my birthday weekend. Now we gotta get back to work and not give up on the progress thus far.
And as I'm quite behind on my reading goals and other personal goal posts I've set for myself, I'm going to wrap things up here and get back to my other "work".
