Last night's O Bar celebration was an awesome way to wrap up my birthday week celebrations. We had a great mix of friends present at the table and even more (surprise) familiar faces among the crowd. And the show itself was even more awesome than I had projected given amazing numbers and a wonderful roster of talented drag artists beyond the typical O Bar roster. And while not everyone we had invited managed to make it, I still super appreciate everyone who was there all the same.
The final cake count ended at 6 instead of my projected upper limit of 7, which is totally fine with me. O Bar gave a classic Red Ribbon chocolate cake that I did try a bit of since I really do love that cake as it totally tastes like childhood. I'm glad they didn't give an overly large cake - it's less of a carb burden during the night itself.
I wasn't expecting to go on stage because the event for the night was centered around the (belated) birthday of Popstar Bench, one of the O Divas who is part of the current season of Drag Race Philippines. But Bench herself pulled me on stage, so I guess that was that. It felt super awkward given all the people on stage mainly for Bench, but hey, these are things that happen because of O Bar that stress that it's truly our second home for many good reasons. And I definitely felt a lot of love last night both on stage and at our table.
I kind of wish that I had scheduled more time off to relax after our Saturday night celebration, but work is work is work. Let's hope the rains tonight don't make work overly complicated for the coming week.
