I'm at the point in my trip when I've worked through the last of the bar of soap that I had brought with me and I got the usual prompt to check in for my flight home. And while I still have all of tomorrow to enjoy myself here, this trip is also drawing to an end. Bittersweet, as always.
After a weird bit of coordinating with PH contacts, my regular hobby store, and comparing to shelves here, I have made a rather expensive Transformers run in order to secure particular exclusive figures that may not make it to Philippine retail anytime soon. We've already started to see regular releases come out quite late and some larger figures or more niche ones never make it to stores back home. It costs a bit more to get them in Singapore and even more when I get them via the US since I need to pay to ship them home. This solution is to my satisfaction for now and the robots don't take too much space in my bag now that I've taken them, out of their boxes and transformed them into more compact shapes.
There's a gift I still want to get that may take up more luggage space plus a few essentials for family, but beyond that, I'm pretty content. I didn't pick up any physical books at Kinokuniya this time around (something that has become a bit of a pattern in recent trips), so I think I can manage everything in my bags well enough. I'll try not to pick up too much at the airport either, just to keep things manageable.
I still have work to think about for tomorrow, so the rest of my going-home thinking will have to wait. It has been a pretty productive trip overall both in terms of work and family time, so I can't complain. Then I just have the business of getting older to consider by the time I get back to Manila.
