After a fun O Bar night, the rest of this weekend has been somewhat tamer or at least not as loud. We've still had a good time, but at least it also wasn't very one note.
For our game night, it was with a friend who's totally into learning heavier games and we're always glad to oblige him. Our game line-up for last night consisted of only four games - Dune Imperium, Godzilla: Tokyo Clash, A Feast for Odin, and finally Tapestry - all solid games of varying degrees of complexity. Despite playing until like 08:00am, we only got to get through these four games because there's a fair amount to teach and then more in-game learning to round out the experience. Other contenders we considered throwing into this game night included the likes of On Mars and maybe Through the Ages, but there's only so much time (and brain power) at our disposal within the fixed time we had.
Another odd note of the weekend is our trips to the nearby Tang Korean restaurant. As we had ordered Sariwon twice during the workweek, it didn't seem like a good idea to eat there again during the weekend. We went to Tang on Saturday afternoon as part of our post-O Bar recovery meal, and it totally worked for that purpose. But we found ourselves going back to Tang for dinner tonight because we needed to get out for steps anyway and the good is good. But it does feel rather indulgent that we ate there twice in the same weekend and we probably needed twice as many steps to burn off all the meat in that meal. No regrets - the food is just so good and we were lucky to snag a table both times as there's often a queue.
There was supposed to be a Pendragon RPG session today but one thing led to another and we had to cancel the session again. Definitely getting a little worried that the game is going to derail if we're not careful about things. There's only so much that can be done, of course, but the longer don't game, the greater the challenge it will be to get back into the story.
