02D2A: Grind Resumption

 

Back to work today - it's never easy to get back into the groove of things after a long weekend. And what more when you ended the last week with a big announcement at the office. So today's back-to-work efforts included figuring out the next steps and starting to set up more meetings as follow-up activities. There is more than enough work to go around and I know the team will have a lot on their plates. I still believe this is all going to lead to good things, but we gotta get through some of the challenges first.

One thing at a time.

On a related note, I've finally started reading Reinventing Organizations as part of this effort. I've only just gotten past the lengthy forward and already I am thankful that I had read the similarly titled Reinventing the Organization first as that definitely resonated with me more. But hey, it's still early and maybe the core portion of the book will be of a different tone. It is a rather popular book, so that has to count for something, right? I soldier on.

In other news, we finished the night with chores. After waiting for the traffic around SM Aura to abate a bit after work, we did push through with this week's grocery run. We could have gone yesterday, but I wasn't feeling it for one reason or another. So we ended up having dinner at Sariwon - although our first choice had been Tang, but they managed to have a queue despite the rainy weather. The mall was not in great form and dinner at Banana Leaf was a little frustrating because so many items were not available, including most of their vegetable options. But we still got through it and the Sietch is better equipped to support us. And this should help us minimize our food deliveries for most of the week - something that feels extra important given the recent rainy weather.

Beyond that, we weirdly do not have any firm plans for Friday and Saturday this week. I know Saturday is the big QC Pride event, but we're not very inclined to trek north. And our double O Bar weekend means we don't have the constitution to go again this week - we have to save our energies for O Bar's Pride event next week. I'm not sure if we'll be able to wrangle other friends to come over given all the other events going on, but we'll see.

But good news - it's already hump day in a bit! LOL
