So I actually had a proper Star Wars Day yesterday as I got to hang out with a fellow Star Wars fan (among other fandoms we share) and watched as many Star Wars movies as we could in a single sitting. Naturally, we went with release order instead of "chronological" order and thus watched A New Hope, The Empire Strike Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Phantom Menace along with some fan films and other edits of key battles. And it's not like we only watched the movies. We used the time to discuss different characters and scenes, share other geeky things we're passionate about, and just got caught up on each other's lives.
We wrapped up by 01:00am and stayed up a bit longer for a last snack and a bit more reading before bed.
I deliberately didn't schedule anything today as I just wanted time to myself, which is a gift in its own right. I started the day with yoga and cleared the last of the leftovers in the fridge for lunch. I finished both The Three-Body Problem and The Stone Sky along with the Donny Cates run for the Venom comic (which was weird). And then I spent the rest of the afternoon unboxing more Transformers in order to free up space for board games. I've largely cleared my 2022 purchases and am finally getting started on 2023. I really need to figure out a longer-term solution for my collecting habits.
Now I'm just waiting for Tobie to get home from his business trip. His plane has already landed, so it's just a question of navigating NAIA itself in order to get home to the Sietch.
