02CF0: Other Weekend Activities

Sunday - Guilt Free Grilled Salmon

Apart from getting caught up on this week's Star Trek: Discovery and watching more episodes of the Fallout TV series, Tobie and I did get to play a bit. In terms of physical board games, we kicked off the campaign for Batman: Everybody Lies, a deduction game that uses the same Detective game system developed by Portal Games. The Prologue Case was a little simplistic and we probably could have ended the game sooner than we had, but we wanted to be extra sure by the time we got to the Final Report at the end.

Then we spent the rest of the night playing a community scenario on Escape Simulator. This particular one was called "The Crystal Labyrinth", which was a darling tribute to The Crystal Maze TV show. It featured five rooms that were each based on the major themes of the "worlds" on the old show - Aztec, Medieval, Futuristic, Industrial, & Ocean. And once you solve all of those rooms, you get that chance to enter the Crystal Dome itself for the final challenge. It was definitely tricky at several points and it took us a while to get through all of it, but it was a lot of fun.

Today ended up being a family day for both me and Tobie. It started with me running my regular errands for my parents that had gotten delayed because of travel. It also gave me an opportunity to have lunch with Mom and make fun of episodes of Iron Chef together. Then Tobie visited his mom at the same time and that sort of defined the afternoon.

Our dinnertime entertainment now consists of watching House of Ninjas before we shift to another K-Drama. My mom was suggested we finally take the time to watch Kingdom as we still haven't done so. It's a tempting prospect and we're just coming off of a lighter show, so it's just as well. Then maybe we can swing back to something like Alchemy of Souls as another friend keeps urging us to do.

I hope you all had a good, reinvigorating weekend.
