02C4F: Holiday Activities

Monday - Christmas Tree

I didn't have work today but I got a fair amount done because I'm that sort of a nerd.

I slept an extra hour but then still got up to do some yoga to start the day right. Then I got started on the Folded Space insert for Great Western Trail before preparing lunch for us (despite limited supplies). After lunch, I finished up the Folded Space insert for Caverna, which was pretty cool but not as comprehensive as some of the other inserts. It turns out that I still needed the expansion box and the insert set just included storage solutions to be used in that box. Alas, I had thrown that out, but thankfully there's another expansion coming in with the same box size, so all is not lost.

I also got a decent amount of reading time, but I probably could have covered more had I woken up earlier. But hey, it was a good trade-off.

The big thing for today was our plan to watch two movies after Tobie finished work. My work day tends to end later than Tobie's, so the holiday opened up possibilities. Thus we got to schedule both The Marvels and finally Five Nights at Freddy's, because I'm a bit of a YouTube geek for that game franchise's story. I left a generous gap of time between the movies for a decent dinner, so we really made a night of things.

Both movies were fun in their own right and I'm glad that we made time to go to the movie theater again. We don't go as often as we used to in the pre-pandemic times and I'm still favoring watching movies on weekdays when there are fewer people watching. Case in point, there were barely 10 people in the first movie and only four of us in the second movie. And this was the opening week for the Marvel movie, so take that as you will. At least we had fun with them.

Well, gotta get ready to go back to work tomorrow. But at least it did feel like we made the most of the weekend.
