02C43: Slow and Steady

Health Update:
No fever today, so I got to lay off the extra paracetamol. I'm still taking Decolgen for my sniffles (I guess I have a cold?) but beyond that, there doesn't seem to be cause for significant alarm. I also did a rapid COVID test, which came out negative. I just feel crappy, which sucks, but it wasn't bad enough for me to need to take the day off or anything like that.

Work was productive, but a struggle at times. I'm glad that we're able to work from home since I was able to lie down every now and then just to relax and rest. I'm trying not to exert myself to any significant degree since I know that I'm not 100% just yet. Thus this morning's yoga was just a restorative yin flow and I'm just sticking to the bare minimum for my steps today. It's the little things.

We've been watching The Fall of the House of Usher and I'm rather...disappointed. I was very excited since Flagan had opted to tackle Edgar Allen Poe and the episode titles (and to some degree the character names) are all clear references to his stories and other creative works. But the resulting narrative feels a tad contrived or at least it becomes painfully predictable since any familiarity with the stories means you generally know how each episode is going to end. Instead of a complex narrative told across a series of episodes, we have an anthology series with very loose connections between the snippets.

I guess I really need to swing back to finally watch Midnight Mass
