How to gush about something nerdy at work without going into specifics? I feel this way every time I sit down to consider what I'm going to blog about for the day. I fall back into generalities in order to maintain proper confidentiality in terms of work stuff because that's only proper. But it does take a bit away from the cathartic element of blogging about my day. I write things down to get them out of my head and onto the virtual page because it helps me feel better.
For today, I really want to celebrate. I had a lot of detailed work, but additional support made it more interesting and fulfilling. And then I really got to take some time for myself and sit down with my project and...I at least feel like I've made some serious progress. There's a lot more work to do, but it really helps once you've had some time to think things through and set up the framework for how to move forward. And now that I've started, it'll make things easier moving forward.
Guilty admission - I'm saving a LOT of time thanks to Google Bard. Yeah, yeah, it's easy to get upset about AI-derived things. But man, you can't deny that it's easier to edit someone else's copy versus starting from scratch. And when you're working on a lot of mundane things like definitions and other routine bits of corporate copy, having some AI copywriting support is pretty useful. We'll have to go back to a lot of this stuff that I've keyed in later to make sure it's fully aligned with our company tone of voice for these things, but at least there's something to start with.
One thing at a time.
But now it's time to focus on non-work things. We'll be gaming tonight, the O Bar tomorrow, and more gaming on Sunday. A good agenda.
