02CB5: Interim Plans

Monday Lunch

Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 1185

This was a rather busy Monday and I didn't have a lot of time in-between meetings. And that's why I ended up with the above simple lunch an hour after my intermittent fasting period was supposed to have ended. It wasn't bad - just what I was able to work into my schedule given everything else. Plus when you're cooking for yourself...there's a lot less motivation to come up with more elaborate dishes.

Typically, I cook lunch and Tobie cooks dinner. So today I ended up with my simple lunch and then I ordered out for dinner. In order to be funny, I tried to order something that was related to Tobie's lunch over in Annecy, and...it wasn't enough to satisfy me. It was a good thing that I had gotten a second item off the menu just in case. But that means I didn't efficiently safe something for tomorrow.

I'm going to try to cook my usual sinigang for lunch, although I may change my mind depending on how my day progresses. It feels smart to cook it since (1) the veggies are naturally wilting in the fridge and (2) it'll feed me for a few days. However, I only have so much time in the day and I see that I have some back-to-back meetings right after lunch...which is when my intermittent fasting period is supposed to end.

Then after work, a Twitter friend has agreed to join me in watching Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse before it potentially gets pulled out of BGC theaters. It was oddly difficult securing tickets for Bonifacio High Street Cinema given (1) initially Sureseats did not have movie schedules for tomorrow despite having schedules for Wednesday, (2) once the schedules came up, the system would not accept any of my credit cards for some reason. I have over a dozen failed transactions on my account now but I got through in the end.

I could have just watched the movie alone, but watching with someone else feels more right as movies are ultimately a social experience. And I appreciate that someone will make the time to catch the movie with me even though BGC is not the easiest place to get to. I know I'd rarely venture outside of BGC for someone else, especially without Tobie.

Six more days to go...
