02C16: Different Preoccupations

Wednesday Adobo

Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 1026

We had a rather unusual start to the day, but in a good way. First, a bunch of My Shopping Box deliveries arrived together right before I got to start my workout. Apart from several Shattered Glass Transformers, there were a number of board games in the batch including some that we thought had gotten lost like our copy of Leder Games' Fort and its Cats and Dogs expansion.

Then an old friend dropped by to deliver a Christmas present. I feel like we only get to see each other every few years given how busy he is, but I'm always happy to see him. My only regret is that he arrived while I was still working out (since I got delayed by the delivery), so I was too sweaty to feel comfortable enough to give him a proper hug.

Otherwise, today wasn't as crazy as yesterday, work-wise. There was still a fair amount of things that needed to get done, but it didn't feel as all over the place as yesterday. Small joys. I know I'll be singing a different tune once I have more meetings on my calendar.

Then I had also agreed to join Tobie's one-shot RPG session after work since a game did sound like a good idea. Today's game was using the Delta Green system and Tobie has lured me in with his plan to draw some inspiration from Global Frequency, a comic that he really loves. That means we're not going to sleep promptly at 12, which is a soft goal for the year, but I'm sure we're going to have fun.

Welcome to the midpoint of this shorter workweek.
