02BDF: Getting Back Up

Tuesday Omelet

Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 983

Had a significant error at work and it's been weighing a little heavily on me. Despite all my efforts to set up systems and processes to minimize these kinds of mistakes, something still slipped through. On some level, I generally get how this happened as I had relaxed a bit during the two weeks we were in Singapore. Despite the quasi-vacation mode of the trip, I should have kept my eye on the ball since this particular aspect of the job is my main responsibility. And it's going to bug me for a while how to make sure things like this don't happen again.

And it's just when I also want to step things up and take on a bit more that's within my scope. But I also recognize that I can only do so much as an individual and I really need to figure out how to get myself some help whether that means a full-time resource we hire to some more flexible arrangement involving third-party support of some kind.

One thing at a time, as always.

I had told Tobie about what had happened and despite his own work challenges, he tried to help support me through things. He went ahead and ordered out for lunch so that I wouldn't have to worry about cooking and in the process, we confirmed that apparently we've had group order options on Foodpanda and Grab Food for a while now maybe? And we're ending today with a good massage, which I recognize I really needed given how many knots and sore bits the therapist found.

The week is far from over, so we'll just have to get ready to dive back into things tomorrow. But in any case, Tobie and I will help one another throw whatever the rest of the week has in store for us because that's how we work.
