Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 783
It's officially the end of our workweek and Tobie and I are obviously looking forward to the weekend. We're going to go to O Bar tonight, meet up with an online friend for the first time tomorrow then watch the new Dr. Strange movie. Sunday is Mother's Day and we also have a scheduled online RPG session. It's a pretty full weekend docket.
Reporting has obviously been on my mind a lot as of late and it's hard to fully explain how excited I am about our new reporting platform. I've been spending the past few days trying to figure out the quirks of the system and marry very diverse data sources to feed into a single report. And after a lot of data wrangling, things feel like they're finally falling into place. I've more or less translated one of my monthly reports into a fully automated version that eliminates the need for me to tweak and tinker with things to get the data to align. It has taken a lot of brain work, but I'm super happy with the results and I can't wait to roll it out to clients just to see what they say.
I doubt they'll be as excited as I am about it because at the end of the day, it's just a report. But hey, this is my thing! And I'm super happy that I got to do the thing.
Now I just have to re-implement this for the related client accounts and then get started on translating other reports into this self-updating dashboard format. I honestly might sneak in some time to get a few more reports set up because I enjoy things that much.
Beyond that, here's to hoping everyone has a good weekend ahead. Let's enjoy things and relax for now because on Monday it'll be Election Day when the future of this country is actually going to be decided. Monday is game time.
A lot of folks talk about not being able to make plans after the elections, which is generally get. There's a lot of worry and tension that we're on the brink of the Marcoses returning to power should Bong Bong win the presidency. Then again, the efforts to campaign for Leni Robredo have been tremendously inspiring and maybe, just maybe, that'll be enough to get us past the finish line. And hoping for that kind of an eventuality isn't a bad thing at all.
