02ACB: Holiday Whiplash

Thursday Sinigang

Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 691

As relaxing as a long holiday weekend away from work can be, the first day back can be brutal. It's how the work-related universe balances things out. I often say that shortened work weeks involve the same amount of work within a smaller amount of time.

I wear many hats at work, and my day started like I was being asked to wear almost all of them. Don't get me wrong - this sort of thing can be oddly exhilarating in its own way. But it does take a lot out of you as you shift from mode to mode in order to check things off the to-do list. I'm thankful I got through to the end of the day without totally going nuts and I pretty much got through my list.

The flip side is that tomorrow is the last day of the workweek, so things will come to an end pretty quickly. And it looks like we have a pretty exciting weekend to look forward to. O Bar is re-opening and Tobie and I are going to take the gamble with it. We've discussed how we want to handle things in order to minimize our risks - even more than what we allowed ourselves in December. Things aren't quite safe enough to go crazy, but we do want to make sure that we support our O Bar family as best as we can.
