Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 661
Today the Department of Health reported 5,434 new COVID-19 cases in the country, which brings the positivity rate up to 26%. The country is once again considered to be high risk (obviously). Steps are being taken to essentially ban unvaccinated individuals from leaving their homes within Metro Manila. And based on different reports, our reproduction rate is currently at 4-5, which really stresses just how more infectious the Omicron variant is - provided this is in fact Omicron. We're still playing catch-up in terms of determining which strains of the disease are actually being detected and the current rush off post-holiday testing won't make that aspect to things any easier.
Work was a welcome distraction from the news. 2022 has pretty much picked things up where 2021 left off and we have a lot of things in motion. Plus we have the added fun of not just end-of-month/start-of-month cycling, but also end-of-year. So yeah, it's that sort of a time.
I'm experiencing a slow start to my leisure reading for the year, but this is often the case as work becomes a bit more of a focus during this time. I also still haven't finished unboxing my Transformers purchased during the last calendar year, and I'll probably need another weekend or two to clear the queue entirely. And there's still a lot of TV that we want to get around to watching, but other things keep getting in the way.
