02A3C: Ending Another Cycle

Thursday Adobo

Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 558

We're almost at the end of the workweek, which means the weekend is almost here. We're also at the tail end of September, thus the last quarter of the year is also set to begin. Many things are coming to an end. Mixed feelings, as always, as we all have that weird feeling of our lives generally feeling stuck for some time now. And I don't think things are going to change all that significantly within this calendar year.

We have some games scheduled for the weekend, so that should keep things busy. I'm also scheduled to visit the family as part of my monthly errands, and it's as good a time as any to check on them. I'm not sure how I feel about Duterte's late-night declaration that we no longer have to wear face shields while outdoors when I'll still need to bring one around for when I enter establishments. So it's not like we're free from those silly things just yet - then should I just save myself the effort and wear them the whole time I'm outside the Sietch?

After tonight's Baduy Pride episode about The Lord of the Rings, I've made the commitment for us to go watch the movies again sometime. It has been quite a while since I had last watched them apart from that last trilogy of Hobbit movies. And those are still solid movies and Tobie does have a DVD box set of the special editions of the movies. Something to consider indeed.

For what it's worth, I figure we'll also get around to making Tobie watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the fun of it. I still want to watch Babylon 5 since I think we'll both enjoy it. I also want to dig up a bunch of the old MGC musicals for the fun of it. So many things but so little time. All these little escapes and distractions from the the gloom and doom of this global pandemic.
