Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 472
June is coming to an end and I'm feeling the pressure to rack up more finished books for my read pile. I'm still ahead of the pace needed for my end-of-year goal, but I can be a bit of a competitive reader. And we do like hitting little milestones.
But there are things like work that take up a lot of time and shared entertainment experiences like watching TV shows and movies with Tobie that deserve some time so. So it's a bit of a balancing act between our different recreational activities. But we still get to cover a lot of fun geeky ground together and that's never a bad thing. And it's not like I don't read at all because of this.
The main distractions are different mobile games because they can be quite the time suck. But they can also provide a fair amount of fun in their own right. And they scratch a particular stress-related itch during crazy busy work days, so I can't really complain.
So I've been hitting the comics hard since even compiled volumes go by a little quicker than full novels and that certainly helps things along. I have another 24 hours to see how many more books I can tag as read before the next month comes along. Let's get to it. And writing about reading isn't going to get more books read faster.
