029E1: Pre-Weekend Venting

Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 468

Tobie still hasn't had any luck with the TRACE Taguig app in terms of trying to get a vaccination slot. But it seems he may have a chance as immediate family to get vaccinated through his sister, so we'll see which one comes through first. We're already at the point where any official channel that can get Tobie vaccinated is one I'll support. Updates to follow.

To end the busy, busy work week, we had our monthly online game night. It only lasts for an hour but we get to play like 3-4 different games from the Jackbox Party series to round things out. This is only the second time we've done this but it continues to be fun. I'm not sure if I want to experiment with making them try something like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, which is a different spin on a cooperative game.

This weekend we have an online game night to celebrate a friend's birthday and a Pendragon RPG session on Sunday, which already makes for a busy dance card. I was hoping to get a foot spa as well while Tobie plays a Cthulhu RPG with another group in the morning, but the spa wasn't clear on whether or not my appointment was confirmed and that just annoyed me. I'll see if they'll still message in the morning, but I highly suspect they won't.

It has been a struggle to figure out what to write about for this blog entry, which probably speaks to how much I should just rest. Beyond getting more sleep in, I still really want to just sit down read more - but I'll settle for pacing the unit for steps while reading, which is almost as good. I just feel a little blah and I'm not quite sure how to address it. This is the sort of mood that encourages one to indulge and order out for pizza in the wee hours of the morning. But I'm still on keto, so that's not an option.

And I want to note it down here that I'm also in one heck of a weight plateau, which annoys me to no end. I've been on an upswing since after Tobie's birthday and I've never quite recovered. And it's extra annoying since I only broke keto for that one week so I can't really blame the food. I've generally been working out save for the week I was dealing with muscle strain and the weekends I had to deal with the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine. But I still don't quite get what has changed apart from my workouts maybe been a notch or two less intense during my post-vaccination weeks, but that can't be it, right?

I could more seriously cut back on the keto desserts or something just to see if I can kick my system back into flow or something. I hope it won't last too long. I remind myself to be patient and stay the course, but it does feel more frustrating to still be on a diet and yet not see results. I deserve better than this, right?
