029C0: One Day After Vaccination

Supplemented Leftovers for Brunch

Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 435

I woke up feeling a lot better than yesterday. The weird feelings had mostly faded from my left arm and leg and I didn't seem to have any other post-vaccination symptoms. I count myself fortunate in that regard - a friend who had coincidentally gotten vaccinated yesterday was having a rougher time this morning including feeling feverish. I just had the odd pain across my left side limbs/extremities, but that was it.

But to be absolutely safe, I decided not to get into any serious exercise today - not even yoga. I just had my usual effort to hit 12,000 steps across the day and that was it. I'll see how I'll handle tomorrow - I think it might be a little too soon to go straight into a high-intensity workout so soon after getting my shot, so maybe I'll need to pace myself carefully.

At least we have a Singapore work holiday to look forward to this week, so that should give me some time to breathe. We also have our DFA passport renewal appointment on Thursday, so that should balance out my work for the week, more or less.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that I haven't really gone through overly serious side-effects as others had. But as my mother put it, not feeling anything makes one feel uncertain about whether or not they actually injected the vaccine into you. They use very small needles for the procedure, so you barely feel it. And much like the stinging sensation that comes with alcohol-based mouthwashes, part of you wants to feel something to feel like something is happening.

So needing to deal with the odd sensation of my left side being numb/tingly as if I were becoming a villain in the Centurions cartoon series. You get what I mean, right?
