024CF: Missing the O Bar Family

Pamilya Egg February 2020

Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 195

I miss our O Bar family. More than the bar itself as an entertainment venue, I miss the people who form our second family there. There are the owners who have put so much work in keeping the bar running. There are the fellow regulars who we share tables with and always enjoy swapping stories with. There's the staff who help make every night special. And there are the performers who help make things especially magical and fabulous.

The ongoing lockdown has prevented places like O Bar from re-opening for a good 6+ months now and it's not clear if they'll be able to do so should we ever shift to MGCQ, which currently is the most liberal of quarantine measures being practiced in the country thus far. But one can hope for the best - I'm sure the O Bar management team will figure out a creative way to re-open somehow, as long government restrictions ease a bit more.

Our Friday night Baduy Pride shows have started to become distinctly O Bar themed. Thus Friday episodes end up running longer since we hope that more of our O Bar friends join the live stream and sort of part with us. Tonight we have a big one planned where we'll talk about our favorite O Bar performances and I know it's going to be a fun night.

I really miss our friends. I hope we get to see each other safely again sometime soon.
