Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 19
Last night we "burned" the first half of our copy of EXIT: The Game - The Catacombs of Horror, which is one of those "escape rooms in a box" experiences that you can only play once. Typically we wait to play these things with friends to maximize the experience, but given the quarantine, we figured we might a well go for it. The box indicated it had a difficulty rating of 4.5 out of 5 and it was certainly quite the challenge despite our best efforts.
I'm generally feeling better today, maybe because of the game or maybe I'm just past whatever funk was somewhat bogging me down. Maybe I just needed the right game. Or maybe talking through my frustrations helped me get past them. Whatever it is, I guess I'm more centered and prepared to continue through this quarantine experience for now. Then we'll see how the next week goes.
I'm looking forward to checking on my family this weekend. Sure it's just a walk down the street, relatively speaking, but it's an important opportunity for connection. We've already adopted the habit of more frequent video calls throughout this quarantine period, but seeing each other in person is always a different experience. If only Singapore were somehow a hop, skip and a jump away as well then that would really complete the experience.
We keep moving forward. We will get through this.
