02412: Quarantine Pressure

Metro Manila Community Quarantine - Day 06

Our first week in quarantine is drawing near and life definitely feels weird. As much as a lot of our life typically involves a lot of indoor activities such as our tabletop board games, no longer having the option to go out or have friends over feels distinctly off.

Not going to the office for work feels weird. Not being able to go to the gym feels weird. No longer having the option to head out to watch a movie feels weird. And all the other little things that make our lives - the drastic change to things leaves one feeling very unsettled.

I know Tobie and I are luckier than most since we do actually live together and we're pretty comfortable in BGC. There are a number of friends I know who are separate from their loved ones or wish that they had gone home to their families in the provinces before the lockdown order came down. Now we have a lot of people stuck killing time in their small apartments that were tolerable as part of the larger work routine but make for poor accommodations for an extended quarantine like this.

And we're still in our very first week.

Hang in there, everyone. We have a long road ahead of us. But it'll be nice to finally see everyone on the other side soon enough.
