02545: Older Gaming Circulation

After another fun O Bar night, we had some friends over for gaming and ended up playing a few titles that don't get as much circulation as others. The bulk of the day was dedicated to Fortune & Glory, the mad dice-rolling pulp adventure game that had our intrepid crew fighting Nazis and fanatical cultists. The game holds a special place in our hearts and it was nice to be able to introduce this campy little game to friends. And I think it's fair enough to say that they had a lot of fun with it as well.

The bigger surprise was the request to play a storytelling game, and thus we brought out our copy of Once Upon a Time. It's a solid game that doesn't get enough play since storytelling games are a rather niche segment of the game world and not everyone feels like they can do well in such games. I don't really believe that and over time anyone can get into a storytelling game like this once they shake off the self-doubt and shyness.

As much as there will always be new games that present exciting new ideas for play, it's always nice to bring out older games in our collection and celebrate why we bought them in the first place.
