0248D: Lost In the Crystal

Okay, we finished watching Netflix's The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance last night and the whole experience was just AMAZING. I've been on a Dark Crystal obsession drive over the past 24 hours and have been spending my free time consuming behind-the-scenes content for the Netflix series and more importantly the original movie. This includes a Visual History book that I had purchased last year but never got around to actually reading until now.

It's such a beautiful, amazing, and well-thought-out world and I am happy to appreciate it now despite the fact the Skeksis terrified me as a kid. It boggles the mind to consider how Jim Henson came up with this story world and yet also helped bring the likes of the Muppets to life. The man's genius is well-known but perhaps never celebrated enough. And it's not for a lack of trying - there's just so much more to his story and everyone who explores his characters gets to get a glimpse of the magic behind the curtain.

Hay. What a magical time to be alive indeed.
