0278C: Washing Woes

Let's talk about lighter stuff for tonight.

Right around the time we had signed the new lease for our unit, our washing machine started to bork and now the dryer function is no longer working. It's a shame since I honestly enjoy doing laundry and the inclusion the washing machine with the unit was one of the key selling features. But the cost to repair it is already about half the cost of a new unit.

So we reached out to our out-of-country business owner and asked if he wanted to cover cost of repairs (as it was part of the unit and covered by the lease) or if he'd be okay to just let the machine go and allow us to buy one of our own. It took a few days, but he's confirmed that he's okay to do so.

So now while waiting for him to pull out the old unit (because to be fair the washing function still works), I'm already scoping out possible washing machines that fit the limited space we have for the unit. The existing one just fit so we have to work with those dimensions and it's not like we need a super big machine either.

This LG machine looks pretty tempting more than others. It's in the middle of the pack in terms of prices and it features a lot of diverse functions that get the washing machine geek in me rather excited. It'll just be a question of finding one, making sure I can get a good deal for credit card financing, and then get back to washing our clothes on our own.

It's certainly something to look forward to.
