02651: Holiday Misalignment

For many friends who work on US-based call center programs, today the end of a long weekend thanks to Memorial Day. And thus while most others still have work, many working individuals get to stay home, provided they didn't have to work a "holiday shift" in a manner of speaking.

On a similar note, tomorrow is Vesak Day in many countries including Singapore, so I'll be staying at home while Tobie will be busy with work. It would be a lot more fun if we could maybe use the day and go somewhere else but work is work is work and we all have our responsibilities to fulfill.

On the plus side, I won't have to dress up for work and I'll be able to enjoy Netflix freely and things of that nature. On the flip side it's going to be pretty warm and I'm always guilty airconditioning without guests present. But we'll see how things go. If I can't stand things around high noon I'll probably fire up the AC if I go nuts.

Mid-week holidays are so weird. They're a weird break to one's work rhythm and it's not enough time to really relax since you'll have to jump back into work the next day anyway. Life has such funny moments.
