So my Singapore work trip at the beginnig of the month disrupted my usual home routine and that made it all the more difficult to get back into the groove of things when I got back a week later. But given the horrible heat in the morning and my poor sleeping habits, one thing led to another and the first half of the month flew by with me skipping yoga every single time. I was already steadily practicing 3-4 times a week before that last trip but now I'm back to day one.
Believe me, I'm frustrated with myself as well. It's easy to make excuses when the weather is so horribly warm as the heat makes it difficult to feel motivated to just about anything. At the very least I get my self to still walk to and from work but the yoga was really an important part of all this.
Today I got back on the proverbial horse this time around and managed to go through my routine this morning. I have definitely lost some strength as my planks did not last as long as I would have liked. Of course the summer heat doesn't help things at all and I was sweating buckets the whole time. And no one likes a sweaty yoga mat. But at least I'm getting back into things and I'll do my best to practice my positions again tomorrow. I'll just take things one step at a time.
