02530: Meat Reduction

So I'm still in the process of slowly phasing out red meat from our kitchen. It isn't a serious transition to living meat-free as we still enjoy eating out too much, but when helped I am trying to make more meals meat-free as a somewhat healthier option. But that means working through some supplies that have remained in our fridge for a while as my experiments with Quorn have continued.

Today I found some pork steaks hidden in one of the freezer bins so they're going to become tomorrow's lunch together with some cherry tomatoes for roughage. There were a few more leftover that I'm not sure what I'll do with by I cooked them anyway. Bare minimum I could slice them up and mix them into more vegetables.

Quorn has become the big enabler for our meat-free shift. It doesn't perfectly taste like meat but it does feel like it and sufficient seasoning takes you past the finish line in terms of yummy flavors. Together with Honestbee's home delivery service, I've been a lot more inspired to stock up on veggies whenever possible so Tobie has salad materials to work with or for me to dress up our Quorn meals with.

We have a long way to go, but I'm enjoying the ride.

Now I just need to figure out how to increase our level of physical activity. Our varying work schedules aren't quite supportive of anything just yet so maybe we need  to go back to home solutions. Or we need to get around to exploring the gym at the condo.
