02498: Too Much Going On

Two days until the big rally, which may or may not be a big rally. The earthquake drill was cancelled, thankfully. And its still a weird non-holiday, national day of protest? As someone responsible for a team of creative folks here, it's hard to figure out how best to handle things. I think most of the country is still in wait and see mode, trying to figure out what the heck is going on.

And that's the big question, isn't it? It's hard to figure out what the end goal of all of this is. In politics you try to figure out who benefits most from each activity. It's clear the President has some bigger agenda and it's not just about eliminating the drug problem in the country, which he himself has conceded that it's not even a problem that can be solved entirely. The groups behind this big protest have their own horses in this race, so to speak, although the larger call to speak up against more problematic aspects of this administration is one that resonates with many.

In the meantime we do our best to ride things out and figure out a path forward.

And then the President makes another speech and things go topsy-turvy once more.
