As much as I pride myself as a man of science and logic, sometimes weird things still happen in this life. I've had more than a few moments where my actions have been inspired by instinct and inspiration as opposed to what might be considered to be logical.
Over the years I've come to accept that either extreme is not a good thing and the need to balance the quantitative with the qualitative, the mundane versus the imagined, and all such dichotomies of fact and fiction. Things do seem to happen for a reason - and this is probably why I'm not an atheist despite my lack of religious affiliation.
And while it's one thing to point to such moments of inspiration to bolster the belief that there's more to life than just randomness. And some of the events of the past 24 hours have me a little amazed at how strange, funny and a little sad life can be at times. We don't always understand why things turn out the way they do, but we do our best to roll with the punches and see things through.
I wish all the love and support to my friends going through interesting times. We'll all come out of the experience better for it.
