The Fiesta Pilipinas O Bar Pride Party was a fabulous celebration of Philippine culture and LGBT pride. It was a night spent with good friends and perhaps far too many people crammed into an enclosed space plus National Artist for Dance Alice Reyes. Things get a little surreal when a National Artist turns around and offers to raise a glass to toast and you don't know what to do.
We were joined by a few friends and it feels like our Pride celebrations tend to involve different people every year. We can never quite get the same people with us every year and that's a good and a bad thing as it means exposing more people to Pride even if we don't get to celebrate with friends from before. But people change and grow and move on in new directions and priorities shift and all that good stuff.
But for last night we were all pretty happy and we went home with big smiles on our faces and love in our hearts. And that's all that matters, really.
