02374: The Wedding Excursion

We did it! We survived our first out-of-town wedding trip together without the aid of a driver. Although the real credit goes to Tobie for doing all of the actual driving and to Waze for handling the navigating, but at least I got to echo what Waze had to say. It only took us about an hour to get to the venue and maybe an hour and a half to get back home, which is sadly like our old commute to Cubao on a week day. Wow life.

JR and Agnes' wedding was a lovely affair and I'm really glad that we got to attend. I'm also glad that Tobie got to spend some time with other members of my family as quirky as we are. But hey, it's close family that helps you get through big events like this. Even with a modest invite list of about a 100+ people, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the crowd unless you end up in the company of people you can relate to. In this case I knew that I'd be okay but I'm glad that Tobie felt quite at home as well.

Congrats again the newly-weds and wishing all the love and success for them in the many years to come. While on some level weddings will always frustrate me out of simple envy, it doesn't mean I don't know how to celebrate a happy union and enjoy their special day with them.

Someday Philippines. Someday indeed.
