There's a lot that can be said in favor of living closer to work. On some objective level, it may seem a little sad that work becomes such a big part of your life. But really, it is what it is and some of us are fortunate enough to be in jobs we love and others just have to keep at it where they work now. And in this regard, living closer to work is definitely a big benefit indeed.
I knew we were going to get time back versus what we would normally lose commuting back and forth between Cubao and BGC. But man, even just an extra hour or two makes a world of difference for your daily routine. Now I feel like rushing home from the office to get dinner started or on some times we can actually consider watching a movie after work without having to dread extra travel time to get home and such.
To be fair, we still make occasional runs to Cubao when we can as we're not done moving stuff over to the new place. There's still a lot of work to be done and we need to resolve things before the old lease comes to term. But for the most part, BGC is now home. And it's a life we're definitely enjoying acclimating to.
